As a sub consultant to Progress Rail Services, Innovative Solutions provided hardware design and processor programming for Denton County’s A-Trail Corridor from Carrolton to Denton, Texas. Features of the project included temporal separation, quiet zone design, and the use of check-in/check-out logic to mitigate against DMU track shunting issues.
Innovative Solutions provided aspect charts, track maps, hardware design for crossings, interlockings, intermediate signals and wayside switches, and programming for vital processors and crossing controllers. Equipment allied on the project included GE’s VHLC, Electrocode 5, and HXP-3. The project required design and programming of more than 60 new locations.
Innovative Solutions personnel provided support for factory testing and field verification. Following commissioning of the system, Innovative Solutions provided continued support that has included new and revised design, archiving of design for the owner, and the development of check-in/check-out logic to mitigate against DMU track shunting issues.
The total value of the project was $315 million, with Innovative Solutions’ value being $350,000.
